Board Member Code of Conduct We WISH We Could Write

Here is our Association Subculture suggestions for an updated Board Member Code of Conduct policy.

1. You are here to do three things - contribute to the whole, support your colleagues and have fun.  (The day you stop doing any one of those three things, do us a solid and resign.)

2. In terms of policy making we believe the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one.  (Especially "the one."  You know who you are.)

3. Be a big picture, strategic thinker. (Urges to micromanage will be dealt with using escalating measures up to and including electroshock therapy.)

4. We are all about transparency. (However, when something comes up that requires confidentiality we expect you to shut your piehole.)

5. No backbiting, undermining, pursuing your own petty agenda, or trying to personally profit off of our activities.  (If you do, you can expect to be hunted down like the dog you are and be summarily, unanimously voted off the island.)

6. Bring your entire, real self to board meetings.  (In return, we promise not to bully your authenticity into silence.)

7. We have a singular requirement as far as our dress code goes - clothing. (Extra points awarded for dressing in drag or as a Klingon Warrior.)

8. Perform your fiduciary duties.  (If we have to call our legal counsel on behalf of your sorry self even ONCE mom says you can't come over and play at our house anymore.)

9. We promise to listen to new ideas. (But you have to promise to have some.)

10. Do or do not, there is no try. (READ that board packet you lazy weasels....)
